Movie Book Review

Title:  Fortunately the Milk
Author: Neil Gaiman
Genre:  Fantasy
Reading Age: 11 Years
ISBN:  978-1-4088-4176-1

What does it need:
  • Introduce (cover)
  • Give a short summary (another image or cover)
  • Share favourite words the phrase or sentence (Sentence or page)
  • Recommended for (back to the cover)

What if your movie is too big for the page?
HTML
<iframe width="560" height="315" src="//www.youtube-nocookie.com/embed/cDvsMyE7u3w?rel=0" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>

Turn these numbers to 500 and 300 so the movie fits on your page.

Are you STEALING that?

It is very important that we get permission for the images and music we use.  One way to do this easily is to use CCSEARCH to find our images.

I searched for horses:

There were heaps to choose from - unlike Google Image Search!

To meet my legal requirements I need to include these things in my attribution:

Title of work:
Name of owner:
Link to original:
Copyright license:

These things are all found beneath the image.

This is how it would look on my blog...

My motto for life

The thing I try to live by is:

If life was a watermelon then take a huge bite.

Don't care if it gets a bit messy.

Grab life and celebreate every little minute.

We only have a finite number of days and they are running out so ENJOY EVERY ONE!

Things I've learnt in 40 years!

Over the years I have been given lots of wise advice.  Here is a collection of my favourite.

1.  Be positive, people like being around happiness because it is catchy.

2.  Don't procrastinate - do the yucky jobs first then enjoy the rest of the day.

3. Breather deeply to full your whole body with fresh air as it blows away the cobwebs.

4. Fill up people's buckets.  Say and do nice things for others as it will fill your own bucket up, making you feel better.

5.  Pretend that everyone is your mother, granny or little brother.  Treat everyone like they are family!

Constructive Commenting

How to leave a blog comment...
1.  Click on the heading of the post you want to leave a comment on.
2.  Scroll down till you see the "Leave a Comment", "Comments" or "No Comments" section.

3.  Type in your comment carefully not in text talk.

4.  Check your comment for full sentences correct spelling and punctuation.
5.  Identify yourself by clicking on the 'select profile' box to find 'name / URL'.
Click on this and add your first name to the name box.  You could identify yourself by saying 'Jack's granny' or Tim from Room 5.  Don't worry about the URL box unless you have a blog address you want to share.  We will insert our blog URL so people come to visit us.

6.  Click 'Submit Comment' and the anti-spam box will appear.  Just type in the numbers/letters carefully and click post comment again.

7.  Wait till your comment is moderated and posted on the blog as there will be a delay as it gets moderated.

What makes a GOOD comment?
Try using the success criteria listed below.

1.  Start by using their name.

2.  Explain what you liked about their post

Use details not just 'It was great', try 'I loved they way you mixed the colours in your painting.  It made me feel like I was really looking at the fireworks.'

3.  Give one idea on how they could improve their work.
Try saying .... 'If you wanted to make your pose even better, you might like to try.....'

4.  Ask them a question to encourage them to respond.
you might like to try…..

5.  Finish with your FIRST name and our blog URL (you could add your age)
http://springstonteamendeavour.blogspot.co.nz/   so they can come and visit us too!

Happy blog commenting.  We are part of a World Wide Blogging Team
Remember it is a challenge to make many constructive blog comments and see if they are published, but your comment is...

Seen by the WORLD - full sentences, correct spelling and punctuation
Words should be kind - encourage people in their learning
Keeping you safe - never share your information like phone numbers, last name or address
Check before you click - you can't fix mistakes once it is sent

You could use these starters for a change:
  • This made me think about
  • I wonder why
  • Your writing has made me think we should
  • I wish I understood why
  • This is important because
  • I can relate to this because
  • Another think to consider is
  • I don't understand
  • I was reminded that
  • I found myself wondering…
These comment starters came from Mrs Gehle's Blog.

Welcome to my blog!

Hi there, this is my very first post.  It will allow me to show you how the labels work.

Write your labels with a capital and comma between.
Labels are like a contents page.  They allow you to jump straight to the posts about that topic.

Don't make too many labels.
Try to use general ones like Writing, Reading, Reflection...

Carol's cool notes to help with your blog.

Add a 'new comment' to the feed gadget on your blog.
